Our Love Story – abbreviatedTwo youngsters who fell in love.
McKinney Entertainment was born in 1988 when Scott McKinney and Diana Roberts saw each other across a crowded room.  In fact, if we had a theme song it would be Some Enchanted Evening*.  That magical night was in February.  We had our first opportunity to work together in March at Star Fest in Denver. Scott was providing sound for the main stage and Diana was handling security for the same room. We discovered we both love Star Trek, Star Wars, ice hockey, and NASCAR. With Diana’s pre-teen nephews in tow, we went to a Nuggets basketball game for our first date on April 15.  It was a lot more fun than fretting about a tax deadline.

In July Scott joined Diana for lunch and asked her what she thought of Larry as a best man. “For what”, she replied. He said nothing. The Jeopardy Theme clock begin ticking in the background. Fortunately it was only a couple of seconds before her brain kicked in. “Sounds like a great idea”, she said. And in August we joined forces as business partners; but more importantly, as partners for life.

The dull, boring stuff
Scott is a trained electronics technician and has been doing sound and DJ work for over 35 years.  Yet he stays on top of all the latest music so he knows just what to play to make your party rock. This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is scott_mckinney-copy.jpg
Scott’s mom used to sing live on radio and his love of music comes from her.  He first began performing professionally when the FFA in Longmont asked him to provide music for their Christmas party.  As part of his activities with a group that organized Star Con and Star Fest in Denver CO he provided sound for the main stage.  Since then he has had the experience of working with William Shatner, Patrick Stewart, and many other actors from Star Trek, Star Wars, and  other science fiction movies and TV shows.
He also provided sound for Archbishop Charles Chaput during a special mass in Greeley CO at Island Grove Regional Park.  The Archbishop complimented Scott saying he was amazed at how well Scott handled the sound, knowing just when to lower or raise the volume, especially considering that Scott had never attended a Catholic mass before.

While Diana’s degree is in journalism, her real love is helping people solve problems and not have stress.  She first started doing that by helping with a This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is Diana-Biz-Card-headshot.jpgSpecial Olympics event in Loveland CO.  Then she joined the board of the Loveland Road Runners and became the race director for the Sweetheart Run.  Somehow her brother roped her into being his assistant with Camp Isaiah, a Christian based running camp for teens.  (It wasn’t really that hard to get her on board.  She loves her brother.)
She has also been active in Agenda for the 90’s and Beyond, the Loveland Community Marketing Commission, the Estes Park Wedding Association, Loveland Wedding Professionals, and is currently a volunteer with the Northern Colorado Special Events Network.

Some Enchanted Evening

*Some enchanted evening, you may see a stranger
You may see a stranger, across a crowded room
And somehow you know, you’ll know even then
That somewhere you’ll see her, again and again

Some enchanted evening, someone may be laughin’
You may hear her laughin’, across a crowded room
And night after night, as strange as it seems
The sound of her laughter, will sing in your dreams

Who can explain it? Who can tell you why?
Fools give you reasons, wise men never try

Some enchanted evening, when you find your true love
When you feel her call you, across a crowded room
Then fly to her side, and make her your own
For all through your life you, may dream all alone

Once you have found her, never let her go
Once you have found her, never let her go!

Mike Harrington

Weddings are truly a magical time but wouldn’t it be fun to also add some real magic? Whether you are having a wedding or a corporate event you can easily add magic to the event.

We have currently partnered with Magician Mike Harrington , a strolling close up magician, to our staff.

Mike comes to us with over 15 years of magic experience and blew us away when we did an informal interview with him. After his short demo we knew he would be a great addition to our staff.

If you would like to have amazing magic for your cocktail and dinner time ask how we may add the “magic” to your magical day.

Very reasonable add on to any event not just weddings.
